King Abdullah road - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
This time our project is in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - the capital. The project brief was to improve and develop the eastern part of King Abdullah Road, an arterial road stretching through the middle of the city, providing quality lighting whilst also providing an aesthetically pleasing light fixture.
Hasan Mohieddin, the head project liaison at Nouran Co. for this contract had this to say about the project:
The designer was looking to achieve a good lighting effect with no glare or light pollution. Furthermore there was a need for an harmonic effect of the pole itself with the surrounding architecture of the site. The shape, lighting effect and performance of the fixture were the deciding factors in choosing this product. The consultant responsible for selecting this fixture thinks that the fixture’s performance is exceptional and suitable to the application. The only thing that we would change is that the locally made pole itself was not to the standard of the lighting fixture and it would have been better if we had used the original Mareco Luce pole instead of the local made one.
